Dentistry in many parts of the world is being taken over by financially driven practices, and there seems to be a growing number of clinics that are focused only on the bottom line and, as such, see the largest number of patients possible a day, putting themselves and their patients at risk. Something feels oddly familiar. Sitting in my neighborhood coffee shop with my laptop open, staring at a course syllabus as it ominously lays out what my life will look like for the next several months. Coffee, flash cards, and wild Friday nights are in my future. And if I’m lucky, I’ll get the pleasure of writing a research paper or two while I’m at it. I can only hope as I start my endo residency. Dr. Vaughn I haven’t “studied” in six years. I haven’t even thought about studying. It’s been so long since I’ve studied that I’m not even sure I still know how to do it effectively. But still here I am, a student once more, and residency promises to be very much one of those sink or swim scenarios. Luckily, I haven’t forgotten everything that I learned in dental school. LEIPZIG, Germany: The pandemic has been a trying time for dentists, particularly for owner-dentists who must make decisions that may influence the safety of their treatment team. Recent studies have found that the rate of SARS-CoV-2 transmission in dental settings has been lower than what was expected when the pandemic was declared, and the literature has shown that air purifiers could play a role in keeping transmission rates down.Did you miss our previous article… https://globaldentalcongress.com/?p=84 Mariyah Lyonsglobaldentalcongress.com

I recently recorded a podcast with Prof. Robert Hill and Richard Whatley (CEO at BioMin Technologies) on BioMin F toothpaste—an in-depth conversation on a very interesting toothpaste. During the preparation for this recording and after it, I developed an interest in the area as my understanding evolved. In this article, I wish to share my insight into some other considerations I have become aware of that we could include in building our understanding around toothpastes in general.Did you miss our previous article… https://globaldentalcongress.com/?p=81 Mariyah Lyonsglobaldentalcongress.com
